January 14, 2026
Manfredi Gioacchini in Casa Monti

At the crossroads of art, design and Roman life, Casa Monti, a luxury boutique hotel in Rome, welcomes the new year with a new art exhibition. From January 2026, photographer Manfredi Gioacchini brings his acclaimed project Grand Tour to the heart of the Monti district, transforming the hotel into a living, breathing art space.
The show opens with a vernissage, offering guests and visitors an opportunity to engage with Gioacchini’s work and artistic vision. The exhibition will be on view until 21 February 2026.

Conceived as The Home of the Artist, Casa Monti continues to affirm its identity as a cultural destination where contemporary creation becomes part of the guest experience.

Casa Monti: Where Art and Roman Life Meet

Designed by French interior designer Laura Gonzalez, Casa Monti is a luxury boutique hotel rooted in creativity and emotion. Colors, textures and carefully chosen artworks reflect the spirit of Rome itself—layered, luminous and alive.

Located in one of the city’s most authentic neighbourhoods, the hotel draws inspiration from its surroundings. Monti is a place of artisans, independent galleries and local rituals, where history and contemporary life coexist effortlessly. Hosting artists-in-residence is a natural extension of Casa Monti’s identity, transforming the hotel into a cultural meeting point for travellers and creatives alike.

Manfredi Gioacchini, Artist-in-Residence

Born in Rome and working between Europe and the United States, Manfredi Gioacchini approaches photography with patience and intention. His images are never hurried. They are the result of observation, study and an intimate relationship with place.

Displayed throughout Casa Monti’s restaurant, Gioacchini’s photographs invite guests to slow down. Encountered between a morning coffee or an evening aperitivo, the works become quiet companions—revealing details that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Grand Tour: A Contemporary Vision of Italy

Grand Tour reimagines the historic journey once undertaken by artists and intellectuals across Italy. Developed over several years, Gioacchini’s project captures the country during a rare moment of stillness, when the absence of crowds allowed for a more personal, contemplative gaze.

From the sun-drenched South—Naples, Sorrento, Anacapri and the Amalfi Coast—to the architectural harmony of Rome, Urbino and Bologna, the journey unfolds gradually. It continues north through the Veneto and into Venice, Asolo, Bolzano and the Dolomites, where nature and culture meet in quiet balance.

Each photograph feels suspended in time, offering a vision of Italy that is both familiar and deeply introspective.

Photography in Dialogue with Space

Rather than occupying a traditional gallery, Grand Tour lives within Casa Monti’s interiors. The photographs interact with light, furniture and movement, creating an ever-changing experience throughout the day.

This dialogue reflects Gioacchini’s own philosophy:

“To photograph a work of art, a monument or a place, you must first study it. Only through preparation can you capture the true soul and beauty of a place.”

At Casa Monti, this attention to detail mirrors the guest experience itself—one shaped by atmosphere, rhythm and a sense of quiet discovery.

Experiencing Art During Your Stay in Rome

Staying at Casa Monti means experiencing Rome through a different lens—one shaped by art, design and a deep connection to place. Whether you are drawn by photography, architecture or the simple pleasure of living well, Grand Tour offers an intimate way to explore Italy from within.

For travellers seeking a boutique hotel in Rome where art is part of everyday life, Casa Monti invites you to slow down, look closer and let the journey unfold.
