As part of a six-month collaboration with Casa Monti, contemporary artist Michael McGregor develops a body of work inspired by Rome’s textures, light, and layered history.
His artistic language unfolds as a dialogue between material, gesture, and memory, shaped by the Eternal City.
McGregor’s connection to Rome began during a previous stay at Casa Monti, where he explored the Monti district, the Roman Forum, and Baroque palaces with sketchbook in hand. This journey gave rise to ROMA AMOR, a limited-edition book of drawings offered exclusively to guests of the suite.
Blending Roman mythology, architectural fragments, and intimate impressions, ROMA AMOR is both a visual diary and a poetic tribute to Rome.

The McGregor Art Suite is not a room designed by an artist, it is an artwork you inhabit.
Every detail of suite 203 has been entirely reimagined through Michael McGregor’s artistic vision. Paintings, works on paper, textiles, and ceramics have all been created specifically for this space, making it one of the most unique luxury suites in Rome.
Here, the guest becomes part of the artwork.
